Garfield King is an independent radio producer, presenter and trainer with over 30 years broadcast experience. His years in radio have included time spent as a reporter, presenter, News Director, Programme Director and Assistant Station Manager. As a trainer he helps people find their voice to better communicate their ideas.
He is a voice over artist of documentaries, radio and television commercials.
Garfield has written, produced and presented daily radio segments in Trinidad and Tobago including Motivation Minute, on Music Radio 97, This special feature has been on the air for 20 years uninterrupted. A Dose of Health on WMJX 100.5FM, Flavorite Peppy Spelling Bee Report and bpTT Inside Business which aired on several radio stations. In Barbados: Just A Moment on Voice of Barbados, Second Thoughts on CBC and Thought for Today on Rediffusion. In Jamaica: Just A Moment on RJR. In St. Lucia: Tips for Better Living on Radio St. Lucia.
He has provided music direction and audio production services on educational CDs and media projects for children, including Comprehension Exercises for Children and Guidelines on Etiquette and Manners for Children. Garfield has also produced soundtracks for stage productions and fashion shows.
From early teens through to late twenties he performed in various music groups and became interested in the healing and therapeutic qualities of music, and sound vibrations.
Studied Sound Recording Techniques and Sound Engineering at Goldsmiths College, London and Music Technology at Gateway College, Kingston, UK.
Trained in Radio and Television announcing at the National Institute of Broadcasting in Toronto, Canada.
Garfield has lectured and conducted workshops in Jamaica, Trinidad, Barbados, the UK and India.
